Does God Love You?
“He who doesn’t love doesn’t know God, for God is love. By this God’s love was revealed in us, that God has sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins.” (1 John 4:8-10 WEB)
There is only one reliable way to know that God loves you.
When you receive a pay raise at work, that is not the proof that He loves you.
If you come down with a flu, that is not proof that He does not love you or is angry with you.
All these different ‘happenings’ are not how we measure God’s love for us.
The apostle John wrote the correct answer clearly for our benefit: “In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins.”
If you want to know that God loves you, just look at what He did for you at the cross.
God delivered up Jesus His only begotten Son, placed all your sins upon Him, and punished Him in your place.
God loves you so much that He does not want you to bear the punishment for sin. Jesus endured God’s wrath so that we who believe that Jesus is Lord are spared from punishment.
This truth will never change.
So on good days and bad days, you can lean on God’s love for you that never decreases.
God’s love is at the same level of intensity for all of us since the proof is the same. Jesus died for everyone’s sins.
Yes, everyone. Including the worst sinners that people deem unworthy of being saved.
This means that we don’t need to be jealous of one another. Comparison is toxic. God loves you just as much as He loves me. If you have faith in His word, you will experience the fulfillments of His promises.
“What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who didn’t spare his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how would he not also with him freely give us all things?” (Romans 8:31-32 WEB)
Just visualize what happened at the cross and you can say, “Yes, this is how I know that God is loving and gracious towards me—because He delivered up His precious Son for me.”
If God did not withhold His best from you, then He will not deprive you of any good thing. Just as you got saved through faith, also receive good things through faith. That is the way under the New Covenant of Grace!

Many Christians are sincere about breaking free from sinful habits and bondages, but they don’t have the revelation on how to succeed in it.
“But sin, finding occasion through the commandment, produced in me all kinds of coveting. For apart from the law, sin is dead. I was alive apart from the law once, but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. The commandment, which was for life, this I found to be for death; for sin, finding occasion through the commandment, deceived me, and through it killed me.” (Romans 7:8-11 WEB)
Sin in the flesh is an opportunist who lies dormant in wait for the chance to rebel against what is good.
The more you tell it to do right, the stronger it will rebel by going on a rampage of wrongdoing.
This is why the strength of sin is the Law.
It is like dealing with a rebellious child who just finds pleasure in doing the opposite of what you tell him to do.
Your “I must not” and “Don’t do this” rules make sin in the flesh really bloodthirsty.
These rules, laws, and commandments have good intention, which is to produce a beneficial result by abstaining from unedifying activities, but it is a counter-effective method for the sinful flesh.
I suddenly understand why the apostle Paul wrote the following shocking statement;
““All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are expedient. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be brought under the power of anything.” (1 Corinthians 6:12 WEB)
“What? You mean it is lawful for me to sin as much as I want??”
Yes, it is, and God will never be angry with you or punish you for it because Jesus was already punished for your sins at the cross. This truth befuddles a legalistic person’s mind.
But ironically, when you say that all things are lawful, sin in the flesh remains “dead”, having no opportunity to rise up and go crazy.
People have good intentions of stopping sinful acts by creating laws, rules, and commandments, but they do not know that these only serve to empower sin in the flesh.
Take a moment to say this now: “All things are lawful for me!” When you say this, you will notice that you have no desire to sin, because sin remains dead when there is no law to stir it up.
That is not all that Paul said. He also said that even though all things are lawful to us born-again believers, not all things are expedient (profitable or beneficial).
Without sin in the flesh influencing our thoughts and desires, we can choose the best way to invest our time and focus. The most expedient choice would be to keep our eyes on Jesus and receive God’s word into our hearts.
Instead of choosing to be brought under the power of sin which brings nothing but death, I will choose to be brought under the power of the Holy Spirit to enjoy fullness of joy and peace!

No Deadly Thing will Hurt you!
When Daniel’s three friends were asked to be burnt in the furnace, they just complied and the fire didn’t affect them. Their clothes didn’t even have the smell of smoke. They didn’t try to resist or fight against the persecution.
Church history tells us that the apostle John was thrown into a boiling hot cauldron of oil to be killed, but his persecutors could not kill him. John did not try to run away.
If it comes to the point of chemicals being made mandatory by law in order for you to keep your career or to keep your basic human rights in society, I would say just receive it and trust that God will protect you from the harmful effects.
Of course we don’t go and seek danger out purposely when it is just optional. But if you are forced and greatly pressured, trust that God will keep you safe.
“...and if they drink any deadly thing, it will in no way hurt them....”” (Mark 16:18 WEB)
No deadly thing that your body drinks will hurt you.
There will be no smell of smoke on your clothes at all because the Lord negates it all.
Let’s look at what happened when the apostle Paul was bitten by a venomous viper:
“But when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks and laid them on the fire, a viper came out because of the heat, and fastened on his hand. When the natives saw the creature hanging from his hand, they said to one another, “No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he has escaped from the sea, yet Justice has not allowed to live.” However he shook off the creature into the fire, and wasn’t harmed. But they expected that he would have swollen or fallen down dead suddenly, but when they watched for a long time and saw nothing bad happen to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god.” (Acts 28:3-6 WEB)
Yes, Paul was bitten, and the snake venom was injected into his body, but the venom did not hurt him at all. The devil thought that he could kill Paul, but all it did was open a great door of evangelism among the natives of Malta. Pail shook the viper off like it was nothing, and it was consumed by the flames.
So don’t be afraid. God is greater than any toxin. He will protect you and keep you healthy!
